Job hunting sucks!
I thought I found the perfect job. It's only about 10 miles from my house. The ad read:
PT help wanted. Seeking motivated, responsible, customer service oriented person to work in my dog daycare/boarding facility.
There was a listing for the web site so I went to check it out. There staring back at me was what I had...what I wanted and still want. I went to the page that had photos of the dogs having fun......I saw some of my old customers and it was like someone ripped the scab off of a wound.
People ask me if it bothers me that I had to close down. I lie and tell them "no'. But today I realize it hurts like hell...and there is nothing I can do about it.

that is a bit of a slap in the face...however it still seems like a perfect job opportunity to me, close*check*, doing something you love *check*, people who know you and like your work as clients *check* could be worse *shrug*

I thought it might be perfect, but I don't know if I could make it thru the interview. I started bawling like a baby just looking at the website.

Oh Lisa, it would be perfect for you. I know you have those fantastic dreams of your own and it hurts that it was taken away, but I think you'll be far happier working with the animals you love. : )

I agree with the above.
It may bring up bad feelings that are just under the surface... but I can only think that if you actually got in there and started "getting your hands dirty" in the work itself, you'd enjoy it.

I agree with everyone else. You might feel hurt at first, but soon you would love your job. I think they would be happy to hire you also since some of their clients know you. Go for the interview!:)

Apply for the job, already. You have nothing to lose by doing so.
It may hurt, but ...

Go for it, girl! Since the wicked witch won't let you have the doggy daycare at your place, this has to be the closest thing to it. And it's a job that won't be a job because you'll be having so much fun with the dogs. It seems just tailor-made.
Plus, you won't have the store doors opening all through the winter and freezing your tushy.

Thanks for making me see it a different way. I guess I was just a bit surprised by my reaction to looking at the web site. I called her first thing this morning.....the job had already been filled.

Oh man, that is a total bummer. It would have been perfect for you. Keep looking, Lisa. I'm sure you will find something!

Well, Lisa it was probably "filled" (like a cavity?) before they even posted the job. Many places of business post ads when they already know who will get the job, in order to fulfill legal requirements.
