What a difference a day makes
I'm not feeling as blue as I was yesterday. I slept like a rock last night so I think that made a huge difference. It was really busy at the store so I was tired when I got home.
apparently who ever made out the schedule forgot it was "Presidents Day" and the schools were closed. That means parents take the day off work to be with there little munchkins and go grocery shopping! One cashier, no baggers and a manager with a 5 pound lifting restriction makes for a busy Lisa! I had to scan, bag and do the carry outs!....damn i better get a good raise when my review comes up....Valentines day marks one year at the store!
Today should be slower...I hope!
The store manager has asked me to work the service counter and manage the front end on Fridays......boys get your minds out of the gutter.....front end manager covers the cashier's breaks and opens a lane if it gets busy, helps at the service counter and tries to keep things running smoothly at the front end of the store...not THAT front end!
I don't get any more pay for it, but it does mean more hours. So that will help on the bills.
Today hubby has a shorter day. He said he will have supper ready when I get home and the TV out by the hot tub. I plan to soak away the blues and watch the WILD kick butt on Vancouver. Another divisional rival so a win tonight will help in getting to the play offs! We are still in 3rd place in our conference...look out Dallas and Detroit....were coming to get ya! I almost need a sedative when we watch against Dallas.....I have hated that team ever since Norm Green stole them away from us....they used to be Minnesota's North Stars....there is just something wrong with Texans owning a hockey team.....do they even ice skate in Texas?

Yes, watching hockey from the hot tub sounds way cool. You can color me seethingly jealous, too.
Hmm. Any other games you can play in the hot tub? ;)
Oh, congrats on the extra hours, BTW.

Nysak: Arr arr arr (those are supposed to be manly grunting noises)....hockey is the best sport out there! You have the grace of ballerinas, the speed of cheetahs, the hard hits of football.....not to mention the guys are kind of cute in their ruff unshaven way with half there teeth missing! Watching it from the hot tub just makes it all that much better!
Peter: I'm sure a few "other" games will get played in there as well....I just have to remember I can't breath under water! ;)
So happy

A good nights sleep is essential to your mood the next day. I know that first hand.:)
Make that another person jealous of your hot tub, I use to have one at my other house, but didn't want to have to pay someone to move it to the new house. Worst mistake I ever made!

Suddenly, I am thinking of grabbing a book and heading to the hot tub. Sometimes that is the absolute best therapy for all kinds of things!
I'm glad your day was looking better for you. : )

That does it... I could care less about hockey, but I want a hot tub! Yes, another seethingly jealous reader. ;)
Glad you're feeling more upbeat. Yeah for the extra hours, too. :)

I want the hot tub scenario too!! Sounds wonderful.... I think rest does wonders for our emotions and spirit. Sure does for mine. I'm glad you're feeling better, and I hope you get that raise:)

Patty: Thanks. yesterday was busy too, but it made the day go by faster!
Birdy: That should have been our cup! I watched the Stars when they belonged to us since I was 3 years old! They franchised in 1967. I cheered thru 2 different playoffs never seeing Lord Stanley raised in Minnesota. First year after that bastard Norm Green took the team to Dallas THEY get the cup......Not this year! It's gonna come back to Minnesota!
Laurie: If we ever have to move mine would have to stay too. We built the deck around it after it was put in place. We would have to rip apart the deck to get it back out.
DeeJay: If you went outside last night you might have changed your mind! It was too cold!
LadyV: hot tubs are wonderful...so is hockey!
Lisa: If you all want to come to Minnesota and freeze your tushies off we could have a hot tub party!

*Rips jersey away from Birdy, stomps on it and lets the dog pee on it!*
That's what I think of the Dallas Stars....
I mean, what the hell was Norm Green thinking of when he moved the team there? Do you people even ice skate there? You whine when it gets even close to freezing temperatures! Sheese! ice hockey in Texas...there is just something wrong with that!

Our local news just had an interview with Norm Green regarding the move of the Stars 15 years ago. He stated he won't even come back to visit Minnesota because he fears the fans he pissed off.
He claims he had to move the team because he wasn't making any money off of them here...I think that just meant he was a poor business man. Now the Wild are so big you have to get on a waiting list to get season tickets and every game is sold out! I notice when they play the Stars in Dallas, there are a lot of open seats...I wonder how old Norm is doing financially now.
I love to skate. Didn't get to this year. I never got around to clearing the snow off our pond.

More responsibility, more hours, and then, hopefully, you can overtake that twit manager and get her job.
Untitled Comment
I don't want her job. The hours suck! The old manager that had that job wanted to know if he could come back...we are all crossing our fingers and hoping it can happen!
